Hana Kubátová

Historian and political scientist, Associate Professor at Charles University in Prague. Her research explores how ideologies become embedded in the everyday life of society.

She is the author of Where the Foxes Say Goodnight, published in English by Oxford University Press. Her research shows that the Holocaust in Slovakia was enabled not only by decisions made by those in power, but also by everyday acts of loyalty and individual compromises. Her work also raises an important question: can a healthy sense of patriotism include the willingness to take an honest look at our own history?
