Zuzana Dlugošová
Chair | Whistleblower Protection Office
The first Chair of Slovakia’s Whistleblower Protection Office, which she built from the ground up and publicly defended even when its future was under threat. Since June 2025, she has also chaired the Network of European Integrity and Whistleblowing Authorities (NEIWA). From 2009 to 2013, she worked as a lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and later served as a rule of law adviser to the US Embassy.
She has taught legal ethics for many years, most notably at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava. Her work focuses on trust in institutions and the rule of law, including creating conditions that allow people to speak up about wrongdoing without fear of retaliation. This is also one of the aims of the new whistleblower protection legislation currently being prepared by her team at the Whistleblower Protection Office.
